I went out with my camera between 7.00 and 11.00 in the morning. There were no cars and no people, as if the land had swallowed them up.
But then I realized that the war and the crisis had swallowed them up. After 11.00am, I found lots of cars and lots of people in queues for oil and gas, as if the last of the oil and gas were about to be sold. People have created a crisis with their ignorance.
At the same time, I saw a lot of people crowding into qat markets, as if qat markets were their other home. I visited four markets and all of them were full of people.
The dangers that I have faced.
Armed men questioned me about photographing the petrol station. I denied it, and when one of them went to the car, I took out the camera’s memory card and put it in my pocket; luckily, none of them noticed. One of them came to me and asked me to open up the camera. I opened it for him, and he found nothing; thus, I saved myself.
People in flocks of cars have caused congestion and traffic jams more than two kilometers long.
People have caused congestion in Qat markets, spending money on qat and ignoring family needs.
